Original hand drawn stone lithograph by English artist William Roscoe (1753-1831), titled "Ginger Lily", 1824. Beautifully framed with moulding from Spain, matting from Holland, and filet from Italy. An excellent example of historical Botany. Framed size: 32" x 26". Image size: 20.5" x 14.5". Excellent condition.

William Roscoe was born on March 8th, 1753, in Liverpool’s Mount Pleasant and that is where he was laid to rest when he died in 1831. He was the only son of William and Elizabeth Roscoe. A reformer, poet, educationalist, historian, botanist, doyen of the arts, lawyer and banker,
