Gudrun Pagter
Into Blue, Gudrun Pagter, Abstract geometric tapestry

2021

$2,400

About

Pagter’s minimalism is emblematic of the shared sensibilities of Scandinavian and Japanese artists, popularly termed 'Japandi'. Into Blue is one in a three part series. “In the refined and sophisticated world of design in Japanese art, crafts and architecture, ‘cool’ and ‘sober’ Scandinavians find great inspiration,” Pagter observes. "From the exotic and foreign land we find an aesthetically common understanding of a minimalist idiom — an understanding of finding the core of a composition - that is, cutting off everything that’s unnecessary.”
