About the Item
This beautiful mixed media sculpture is part of Ilanit`s Calligraphy series. It is made of glue, sand, cement, resin and covered with automotive paint.
As all of Ilanit`s works, this work is based on a poem Ilanit wrote. At first, it looks as an abstract wall sculpture, but as you dive into it you start recognizing the Hebrew letters of the poem.

"I have got a cabin to a pen in my underpants"

I am sculpting calligraphy
of my poem writing
In synthetic materials
I am attracted to the artificial coolness
these processed materials carry
turning the tough one into a vulnerable one.
In my calligraphy
I rebel against those teachers
who insisted to make my hand writing readable
I connect between letters, not erasing, losing control
No way back"
