About

Many Winds Sculpture by American sculptor Michael Enn Sirvet is a powder coat Aluminum sculpture. It is 34" x 14" x 15" It is a multi-layered nature-inspired standing sculpture which works on a pedestal or a table. The drilled holes create beautiful shadows and movement onto the surrounding areas. The Many Winds sculpture by Michael Enn Sirvet was created immediately upon his return from a six night back-country trip to the Wild River Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park. According to Sirvet, "There I spent time at the Lake of the Many Wind, and alpine lake nestled between three mountains. This sculpture was conjured by creating four flat interpretations of the landscape in punctured aluminum, and then turning those flat elements into dimensional columns in the spirit of mountains. Those columns were then nested and welded. Land forms seem to form the bulk of my base inspiration as I write this. The technology and precision I use to interpret the inspiration carries the pieces into existence." American structuralist artist, designer, and engineer Michael Enn Sirvet strives to capture the primitive beauty within familiar forms. Sirvet builds structures that recreate the ocean’s waves in steel tangent lines; the decaying of leaves in thousands of perfectly drilled holes; and the ephemeral wind captured in billowing metal. The artist explains: “My hope is that the simple intricacies of my abstracted, purified forms will invoke recognition and impart the wonder that I feel for nature". Sirvet lives and keeps a full-time studio practice in Washington D.C. Many of his pieces can be found in private collections and at several US embassies.
