About the Item
Vasa Mihich is a renowned Los Angeles-based artist known for his sleek, colorful, and captivating acrylic sculptures. He was a Senior Professor of Design at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he taught color theory for many years.
Mihich is a master of acrylic and has worked with the material for nearly 50 years. His finest works, exemplified by this piece, feature colors that meld, recede, or transform into different shades.
His sculptures, with their different geometric planes suspended in acrylic, are dynamic and endlessly fascinating. Caviar20 is excited to offer this fine example of Mihich's iconic technique imagined through this captivating atypical form.
"Pink Brick House" features Vasa's signature electric palette, where vibrant shades of magenta, cherry red, and ice blue merge in fluid harmony, creating impressive ombres and entire angles of pure color. Receding and overlapping each other, the colors provide endless intrigue and multiple ways to contemplate the work. This sculpture is also notable for its curious form; its body is a parallelogram yet it is topped with almost flattened equilateral triangle top.
After dedicating years of his career to education, Mihich now commits himself fully to his studio in Los Angeles where he continues to push the potential of sculpture with the acrylic medium.

Kosso Eloul (1920-1995) is one of our favorite sculptors and an important contributor to public art in Toronto.
In addition to the numerous public sculptures in Toronto by Eloul, his works can be found in many other prominent open spaces around the world, from California to Israel.
Most familiar with Eloul associate his work with his signature forms; large brushed aluminum (or steel) angled rectangles.
However his earlier work was realized in stone. This fine sculpture, a form that is revisited and eventually created in metal, is made of Jerusalem Stone...
