Light (Leggero) is a mixed media wall sculpture by Vera Vizzi combining modeling clay and acrylic paint on a circular fir wood support. This 30 cm Ø piece presents a textured lunar relief that transitions from dense, cratered terrain to a fluid, atmospheric upper field. Suspended in a cobalt-blue aperture, a small orange fish appears to float between dimensions—poised between weight and ascent.
“When matter becomes shadow, the light soul rises to touch the light.” With this phrase, Vizzi distills the conceptual core of LEGGERO: the transformation of gravity into grace. The work operates within her ongoing series of sculptural lunar seascapes, in which marine symbols are embedded into cosmic landscapes. Here, form, texture and color orchestrate a quiet allegory of elevation and release, offering a sculptural meditation on materiality and transcendence.

Vera Vizzi
Vera Vizzi (Milan, 1983) is an Italian artist working across painting and sculpture, blending materials and formats to create hybrid, tactile objects. With a background in Communication Design from the Politecnico di Milano, she transitioned from digital graphics to a fully manual, material-driven practice that prioritizes gesture, texture and symbolic resonance. Her work often takes the form of wall-mounted reliefs or compact sculptural volumes, where colour, surface and miniature figures coexist in compositions that evoke emotional, poetic and metaphysical layers.Rooted in a personal yet universal iconography, Vizzi’s pieces explore themes such as memory, perception and the paradoxes of human experience. Her distinctive visual language—at once playful and introspective—invites the viewer into suspended spaces that suggest both intimacy and distance.
