Busto in marmo dell'imperatore Napoleone I su modello di Antoine-Denis Chaudet (1763-1810), XIX secolo.
Chaudet raffigurò l'imperatore come un saggio legislatore romano (in stile "ermetico" con acconciatura alla Tito); divenne il ritratto ufficiale dell'imperatore, adottato dallo stesso Napoleone, e la sua fama si diffuse grazie a numerose repliche.
Fu prodotto in due misure: una "prima misura" e una più piccola, destinata agli uffici dei gabinetti reali o inviata come dono diplomatico.
Il nostro, per le sue dimensioni, è uno degli esemplari più piccoli, ma la sua qualità è comunque buona.
Ottime condizioni, con solo lievi scheggiature.
