About the Item
Running Horse - Sculpture is an original sculpture realized by the Italian artist Costanzo Mongini (1918-1981) during the 20th century.
Edition of 99 exemplars realized in bonded bronze.
Dimensions: cm 16 x 10 x 30. Very good conditions.
This beautiful artwork represents a running horse. The elegance and fluidy of the movement is sculpted with a great skill.
Costanzo Mongini was a painter and sculptor. His sculptures, some of them large, his paintings, drawings and embossments, are almost an anthology for the multiplicity of subjects, characterized, above all, by their impetus and movement. His works express an aggressive immediacy of language, the emotion of attitudes captured in the moment of a sentimental expression, of a movement in progress. The peculiarity of Mongini's sculptures is that they seem alive.

This artwork - born on a project realized by the artist in the 1930's and manufactured posthumous - represents a sensual nude woman who symbolizes the hospitality. Delightful creation by the great Italian painter Orfeo Tamburi.
He firstly embraced the principles of the Roman School, from which he matured an evocative language with warm chromatic intonations that found favorite themes in portraits and urban views. After a trip to Paris where he discovered the painting of Cèzanne, the artist began a long friendship with Giuseppe Ungaretti, the director Marcello Pagliaro and Curzio Malaparte...
