Erté
Born Romain de Tirtoff (1892–1990) in St. Petersburg, Russia, to an aristocratic family, the artist known as Erté — a pseudonym derived from the French pronunciation of his initials — was a Renaissance man of the art and design world. He worked in graphic arts, interior design, fashion, jewelry and set design for the stage and silver screen, becoming a leader of the Art Deco style.
Moving to Paris in 1912, Erté worked as a fashion designer under couturier Paul Poiret before securing a job with Harper’s Bazaar as a cover artist. Over 22 years, Erté created more than 240 magazine covers alongside his ongoing work in fashion design.
Extending his prolific career into theater sets, costumes, prints and lithographs, Erté became one of the most famous artists of the era. His style — a combination of the nature-inspired flourishes of Art Nouveau and bold, geometric linework — directly contributed to the birth of Art Deco, earning him the nickname “the Father of Art Deco.”
After a lull of creative production in the 1940s and 1950s, Erté reentered the public eye in the 1960s, when a renewed interest in Art Deco had taken shape.
Creating colorful lithographs, bold serigraphs (silk-screen prints) and bronze sculptures, he contributed to a resurgence of the style in France and beyond. This late-life acclaim for his art led to exhibitions in museums and galleries all over the world as well as his first published monograph in 1970. That same year he was awarded the title of Chevalier du Mérite Artistique et Cultural and in 1976 was named Officier des Arts et Lettres by the French government.
Today, Erté’s works are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and LACMA in Los Angeles.

- Worldwide Limited Edition Yves Klein, Ours Pompon in resin with IKB pigmentsBy François PomponLocated in Paris, FROriginal Limited Edition Worldwide Yves Klein Ours Pompon, sculpture in resin with IKB pigments under Plexiglas, signed, titled and numbered, from 2022 Yves Klein tirelessly sought the essence of art and wanted to expose its immateriality. The artist thus found in sculpture a true space of freedom where the monochrome impregnates the space in three dimensions. In 1962, Yves Klein covered universally admired masterpieces with his IKB blue: the Venus of Alexandria, the Victory of Samothrace or Michelangelo's Dying Slave. They then become incarnate objects, sensitive presences. In 2022, 100 years after its success at the Salon d'Automne, François Pompon's White Bear ( Ours Pompon ) meets Yves Klein's Blue. One captured the essence of form, the other that of color and beyond, the essence of art. The art of reality, of freedom, of life. Important : This splendid orignal and authentic edition was handmade by French artisans out of respect and passion for the living heritage. The work has been executed without interpreting, without damaging, without altering, with respect and admiration of the original work. A careful edition in matter and form faithful to the spirit of the creator. It has been carried out with the agreement of the owners of the works and are also subject to the approval of the rights holders or their representatives with all the requirement and respect for the creations of the artists. Dimensions 23 X 4 X 4 inches Label affixed to underside: National Registry of Cultural Assets of the Republic of Cuba Ministry of Culture. Provenance: Art Master Collection, Miami, Florida. Florencio Gelabert, with a style reminiscent of Art Deco and Art Nouveau in a Latin American Expressionist stylization. Carved wood sculpture. Depicts a modernist stylized form of a man in a streamline moderne style. José Florencio Gelabert Pérez (Caibarien, 1904 - Havana, 1995) Cuban musician, sculptor, draftsman and teacher. He graduated from the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts in 1934. He received numerous awards, mentions and recognitions in Fine Arts Halls and Circles. His works are in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts. Florencio Gelabert is a renowned sculptor, who made more than twenty solo exhibitions beginning in 1929, several in the National Museum of Fine Arts, and participated in more than thirty collectives in Cuba, Spain and Brazil, the latter in the Sao Paulo Biennial. he traveled from Caibarién to Santa Clara in 1928 to audition to enter the famous San Alejandro Fine Arts School in Havana. He obtained one of the five vacancies. Already in the Cuban capital, he combined fine arts and music. When he graduated, he became a professor in San Alejandro and the academy’s principal in 1960. With a calling common to wood sculptors –which began with his primary school carving carpentry classes and the active life of his home town’s shipyards, his chisels and gouges feverishly turned mahogany, “ácana” and ebony into female heads with black African features dating back to 1930. In 1938 he used his savings to explore Europe: France (Paris, Marseilles), Italy (Naples, Rome, Florence, and Venice), Belgium (Malina). His encounter with the works by Aristide Maillol, Auguste Rodin, Ossip Zadkine, Constantin Brancusi and even with Wifredo Lam, who was also born in another Cuban coastal area, Sagua la Grande, and his encounter with the nude marble David sculpture...Category
