Arman Hambardzumyan
'Early Childhood, ' by Arman Hambardzumyan, Bronze Sculpture

About the Item

This 35.43" x 9.84" bronze sculpture by Armenian artist, Arman Hambardzumyan, features a faceless figural form with long legs and a short torso. The torso opens up and holds a small figure with a face, the torso extends upward with outturn breasts. Two hands rests on the thighs of the figure. The sculpture is table top size attached to a wooden base. "The theme of motherhood occupies a special role in my art. Once, in history class at school, I heard about the conspiratorial murder of Armenian King Pap. That story seemed familiar to me, but I did not know how. At home my mother told me that she was pregnant with me when she read the book about the King Pap. From this I got the idea that in the mother’s womb the child already feels the outer life. " -- Arman Hambrdzumyan Arman is an Armenian artist represented in several major collections around the world including the Terra Garden in Kikinda (Serbia), Contemporary Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts (Chisinau, Republic of Moldova), Boyajyan Center for the Arts (Prague, Czech Republic), and at private collections in Europe, Asia and in the USA. Provenance - 2015 Myths, Folk Art Museum after Hovhannes Sharambeyan. Yerevan, Armenia. Exhibit coordinator: Armine Beglaryan. Bibliography - “Arman Hambardzumyan: Myths”, Catalog of Exhibition, 2015, “Tigran Mets” publication house, Yerevan.

This 24.01" x 15.74" bronze table top sculpture by artist Arman Hambardzumyan was created in 2013 and features an abstract nude female form. The figure is seated with crossed legs, the torso is curved upward opening into a corset form with outstretched arms. "The image of a woman always inspires me in both physical and spiritual beauty. In this sculpture, I tried to express the image of a woman with her soul, which has no smell, taste and is not tangible. The contour of the beautiful shimmering body of a woman allows you to feel the presence of the female soul inside."--ArmanH Arman is an Armenian artist represented in several major collections around the world including the Terra Garden in Kikinda (Serbia), Contemporary Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts (Chisinau, Republic of Moldova), Boyajyan Center for the Arts (Prague, Czech Republic), and at private collections in Europe, Asia and in the USA. 'Danae, ' by ArmanH, Bronze Sculpture
By Arman Hambardzumyan
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
This 20.47" x 9.44" x 10.62" bronze sculpture by Armenian artist, Arman Hambardzumyan, was created in 2013 and depicts the tragedy of the Greek goddess Danae. The artist's interpretation of this classical Greek myth, where an oracle foretold Danae would bear a son who would kill her father, and in an attempt to evade this, Acrisius, her father, imprisoned her. The king of Gods - Zeus, desired Danae and came to her in the form of golden rain. The oracle came true, Danae conceived a son, Perseus, who killed Acrisius by accident. The expressive love between Danae and Zeus is imitated by the naked body of a woman and a golden shower on her body. "The image of a woman always inspires me in both physical and spiritual beauty. In this sculpture, I tried to express the image of a woman with her soul, which has no smell, taste and is not tangible.
