About the Item
Edition of 9
Suitable for outdoors.
Renowned for his suited everyman character, Jim Rennert’s sculptures have graced the New York City streetscape for over a decade as public art installations, and are part of private and corporate collections around the world.
Hold the Line shows three figures in a precarious situation, bolstering one another as they maintain a collective balance, steadying against an invisible force. Rennert's works are brilliant depictions of metaphors inspired by the business world but which apply broadly to the human experience. Inflected with humor and empathy, the artist’s simplified forms communicate instantly with viewers, creating shared moments of recognition and understanding.

Jim Rennert
Jim Rennert was born in 1958 and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and Salt Lake City, Utah. After 10 years of working in business, Rennert started sculpting in 1990. He had his first bronze sculptures cast by a foundry in Lehi, Utah, in 1992. He began exhibiting his work in commercial galleries in 1993. Working closely with the foundry in Lehi, Rennert learned to execute all aspects of the lost wax method of casting bronze. After acquiring the necessary equipment for the production of his work, Rennert now works out of his home studio in Salt Lake City, Utah.
