A Soul Consoled, Sculpture, by Khang Pham-New, Marble, White, Mother, Child
"My childhood experiences growing up in Vietnam have paradoxically become a driving force in my artistic creations. I am impassioned with biomorphic abstract forms. As an artist, I am aware of and respect the art movements of my time, but to create, I remove myself from the influences of this time and retreat into a private space where I can experiment and explore the possibilities of each phase of my inner life." - Khang Pham-New

Rare "Dickhead" Robert Longo Bronze Sculpture
By Robert Longo
Located in Surfside, FL
Very rare cast. (edition of 1 or 2)
This work was featured in an article "The Appropriation of Marginal Art in the 1980s Author: Donald Kuspit Source: American Art, Vol. 5, No. 1/2 (Winter - Spring, 1991), pp. 132-141 Published by: The University of Chicago Press on behalf of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This appears to be modeled after a figure by HR Giger. it was cast by Polich Tallix Foundry.
Born in Brooklyn, 1953 Robert Longo became synonymous with American pictorial art during the 80s, his ambitious large-scale works seemingly synchronized with the booming economy and boisterous values of the Reagan era. In 1974, whilst studying at State University College, Buffalo, Longo co-founded Hallwalls. As a studio and exhibition space for contemporary art, Hallwalls was the precursor of Longo's ongoing concern for utilizing art's multi-disciplinary potential. His partner in this venture was Cindy ShermanAfter graduation Longo showed in 1979 at The Kitchen, a downtown space which encouraged artistic experimentation and collaboration. In the following year, he had his first one-person exhibition in Europe, at Studio d'Arte Cannaviello in Milan. Since then, Longo has shown continuously in Europe and America. However, it was his first solo exhibition at Metro Pictures, New York, in 1981 that brought him international critical acclaim. This installation of Men in the Cities presented his charcoal, graphite and dye studies of office workersThis interruption of a smooth linear reading, notably used in Dada and Surrealist collage, undermines assumptions, whether they be cultural, social or political. In 'Men in the Cities' Longo cuts anonymous people from their environments, then splices their portraits in amongst blocks of buildings. The association is made between the private and the corporate, the human and the industrial, the fragile and the impervious. Engagement with the social and political can be seen in Longo's work throughout the 80s, setting him apart from fellow artists David Salle and Julian Schnabel. Following a major retrospective at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1989, Longo began to focus on single themes, rather than montages of associations. Furthermore, he moved to Paris the following year. The 'Black Flag' series resulted from this change in direction, and location. Taking the Stars and Stripes as his subject, Longo re-worked the treatment of the spangled banner by Pop artist Jasper Johns. J Longo is a multi talented artist who works equally successfully in a variety of media. He is equally well known as a sculptor and film director as he is as a draftsman/painter, and like the best of the contemporary film directors, his aim is to seduce, elucidate, transform, and instruct. Brutalist Hand Forged Iron Mosaic Sculpture Menorah Israeli David Palombo
Located in Surfside, FL
Hand Forged Iron Stone Mosaic Hanukah Menorah Candelabra
David Palombo was an Israeli sculptor and painter. He was born in Turkey to a traditional family and immigrated to the Land of Israel with his parents in 1923. They lived in the Nahalat Shiva neighborhood of Jerusalem. In 1940 he began his studies at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, and from 1942 was a student of sculptor Ze’ev Ben-Zvi. For a period of time, Palombo was an assistant at Ben-Zvi’s studio and also taught at Bezalel. During this period he was also a member of the “Histadrut HaNoar HaOved VeHaLomed” (The General Federation of Students and Young Workers in Israel). In the 1940s he took art lessons at night. In 1948 he went to Paris, where he visited the studio of the sculptor Constantin Brancusi whose work influenced him. Around 1958 he married the artist Shulamit Sirota. In 1960 he quit his job to devote himself to art. In 1964 he married for the second time to the artist Yona Palombo. The two of them went to live in an abandoned home on Mount Zion in Jerusalem. In 1966 he was killed when the motorcycle on which he was riding ran into a chain stretched across the street to prevent the desecration of Shabbat. His widow opened a museum in their home that was active until the year 2000.
Work by Palombo is included in the Judaic collection of the Jewish Museum (a well known Hanukkah menora). Palombo executed the impressive metal gates of the Tent of Remembrance at the Yad Vashem, the memorial to the martyrs of the holocaust, as well as the gates to the Knesset Building the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco award) awarded him a scholarship for study in Japan. He worked in marble, granite, bronze, iron and steel. as well as with glass mosaic tiles. Palombo’s early works, in the 1950s, were influenced by modernist sculptors such as Brancusi. These works were composed of abstract images from nature and were carved out of stone or wood. At the end of the 1950s he began making metal sculptors, using the technique of welding. His work took on a more abstract and expressive character.

Unique.
Born in Düsseldorf, Germany on September 14th, 1959, Rainer Lagemann studied in Abitur Albert Einstein Gymnasium from 1965 - 1978. Following this, he enrolled in the University of FH Detmold (1983 - 1987) where he studied Interior architecture and got a sense of himself - learned a lot about design, furniture, architecture and art.
It was only in 2005 when Lagemann started welding and found his true passion and special talent for it. Concentrating on the human body in a modern interpretation of the classic art of sculpture, Rainer is fascinated by the human body and the classic theme of artistic expression and struggle that has been depicted in all shapes, materials and mediums since the existence of mankind. Rainer's sculptures capture the human body in motion--a freeze frame of classic, timeless gestures and emotions that are both ethereal and concrete. The forms he creates are how one would imagine the grace of a Nureyev or Baryshnikov in mid-flight.
Rainer uses hollow metal squares to sculpt the human form, creating works that elicit both the strength and delicacy of the body. Each square represents the trials and tribulations of life, the four corners symbolizing the intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual dimension of human beings that form the framework of the spirit and the image of the body. The hollow squares strip away distractions, leaving a powerful vision and exploration of the human body, adding an element of tangible levity and intangible abstraction. With all of Rainer's sculptures there is a secondary layer of beauty, abstraction and mystery. When darkness falls and the lights come on, the exquisite shadows of form, squares, body and spirit cast themselves upon the walls creating a second sculpture of light...

Little Red Riding Hood
Located in New Orleans, LA
White marble, set on a shallow white marble plinth
Signed “J. Gott, Ft.”
Known for his unconventional, almost light-hearted, approach to his subjects, Joseph Gott offers his own interpretation of the character of Little Red Riding Hood in this magnificent marble statue. One of Gott’s finest and most charming works, the intricately carved piece epitomizes his unpretentious nature and affinity for more directly human, accessible themes. Gott’s vision of Riding Hood is the picture of purity and naturalness, seemingly captured just moments before her fateful lupine encounter. Dressed in classical costume, she is tinged with a slight sensuality, yet recalls age-old ideals and standards.
Originally from Leeds, England, Joseph Gott began to explore his art at an early age. He studied in London from 1798-1802, under celebrated sculptor and Wedgwood designer John Flaxman. He entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1805, winning a silver medal in 1806 and gold medals in 1807 and 1819. He went to Rome in about 1822, encouraged and sponsored by Sir Thomas Lawrence. Rome was to be Gott’s base for the rest of his life, sending works home to be exhibited in the Royal Academy. Gott also exhibited at the British Institution and at the Paris Exhibition in 1855, and commissioned a number of monuments.
A contemporary of John Gibson and Richard James Wyatt...

Welded Chicago Gun Sculpture
By John Kearney
Located in Surfside, FL
In this welded steel sculpture in bronze by sculptor John Kearney, the artist sculpts a textural, clenching fist holding a fire arm. The fire arm is bent by the strength from this clenching fist. Signed and dated on the marble base.
Kearney was represented in Chicago, New York, the Berta Walker Gallery in Provincetown and in Wellfleet, His work is fashioned from chrome car bumpers, not the current plastic variety, but chrome plated steel, and welded into great and seemingly alive creatures; a little horse about to leap, a pig, large and strong, and, noble and kingly as it looks over the gallery, a life-size gorilla.
Now 78 years old, John and his wife Lynn founded the Contemporary Art Workshop 53 years ago in Chicago and have contributed through his art to the life and style of the Windy City. Chicago and environs is gifted with many pieces, noteably the city's Oz Park, wherein live the Tin Man and the bronze Cowardly Lion. his work is in the collections of Chicago's Museum of Contemporaray Art, the Detroit Children's Museum, the Chrysler Art Museum in Virginia, and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, to name a few.
His work is in the private collections of Norman Mailer, Diane Feinstein, Johnny Carson, Françoise Gilot, Studs Terkel, and Mrs. Robert Motherwell. Profiled by People magazine, a guest on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and written of by Norman Mailer,
Kearney studied at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Universita per Stranieri, Perugia, Italy. Awards and honors include: Fulbright Award to Italy in 1963-64; Italian Government Grant in 1963-64; Visiting Artist American Academy in Rome, 1985, 1992, and 1998; Wallace Truman Prize, National Academy of Design in 1953 and others. brass and marble
