Kevin Kearns' landscapes come from a place where memory, reality and imagination are combined. They are atmospheric, sensual and continue to evolve over time, allowing the viewer a glimpse into his world. And we are invited to dream, fly over, walk around, live in and contemplate that world – seductive, enticing and coming from very specific memories of places that have fascinated Kearns, whether it be the Hudson Valley where his current studio is located or places like the New England seacoast, Iceland and Europe.
The resulting landscape images are full of light, space, color, softly undulating hills that disappear and reappear and broad expansive skies, and yet little sense of human presence or architecture. They combine a strong sense of the abstract with the organic, essentially allowing nature to be nature. The oil paint is allowed to drip, build up, or be scraped back, resulting in the totality of the final image to evoke a variety of qualities that tap into Kearns' very personal responses to the subject matter.
Born in Boston and raised on the New Hampshire seacoast, Kearns studied at the Art Institute of Boston and went on to a successful career as an illustrator, Art Director, Designer and Creative Director. His work received numerous awards and accolades, including multiple Cannes Lions, One Show awards. New York Art Director awards, London International Awards an Emmy nomination, and was published in prestigious award show...

These artworks belong to the artist’s ongoing inquiry into the possibilities for timeline photography. For this decades-long project Johnson employs an unconventional camera system to produce seamless delineated renderings of familiar events as they occur over time. Luca Campigotto uses big equipment to capture big subjects, from the absolute vibrant density of 5POINTZ at night, to the eerie stillness of the stone statues on Easter Island, to sweeping cityscapes of Manhattan and Chicago skylines. His photographic expeditions have taken him to disparate and exotic locations around the world – Japan, India, Thailand, Cambodia in the Far East; many European and North American cities; as well as Cairo, Lapland, Argentina, and Easter Island.
Campigotto uses both large-format and digital cameras for his projects. His cityscapes feature blurred lines of traffic recorded over long exposures, in bustling settings like Times Square, and yet a stillness pervades his work, a sense of vulnerability. Some of his 5POINTZ images were captured just days before the buildings were white-washed; his Argentine glacier is retreating; the Easter Island statues stand testament to lost civilizations.

Khumbu Glacier is a glacier in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It is the highest glacier in the world with an altitude of 8,000 meters. It is fed by the slopes of Mount Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse and begins in the "Valley of Silence," the highest cirque on earth with up to 6,000 meters altitude. At the end of the Valley of Silence, the Khumbu Glacier has a steep breakaway, the Khumbu Icefall, about 600 meters high. At the end of this icefall, the glacier turns from its initial northwesterly course to a southwesterly direction. Here is also the base camp for the ascent of Mount Everest via the southern route (5,400 m).
