Edition of 50
Set of 3 available for $1250
This image is of a young refugee boy on the shores of Lesvos clutching a (k)hamsa made with life jacket swatches and emergency blankets from the island, the painting was created by tracing the hand of a refugee child and drawing their eyes inside of it.
The human condition is the driving motivation behind my work, it’s triumphs, failures, and banality are inexhaustible source material. Using community as a platform for creation, the work is a collaboration with the subjects - as models, fixers, craftsmen, historians, designers - the people who are being described are those who guide the visual narrative. Together, we make work.
Aubrey Roemer was born in Rochester, NY. She received her BFA from Pratt Institute and post collegiately attended residencies in the USA, Europe, and Asia, as well as exhibited in galleries and museums both nationally and internationally. She worked as a journalist for Art Observed, specializing in covering the NYC auction season. Roemer has received grants from World Connect and ARTwerk for her work. She has received national and international press for her work, while actively speaking about the role of art and activism, notably with Artshape Mammoth, the Tällberg Foundation, and at the Parrish Museum of Art. Recently, she was a resident at Vermont Studio Center, at 42 Acres in England, and in Taiwan at Kio-a-Thau Sugar Refinery Artist Village. Roemer is working on projects in Nicaragua with La Isla Foundation addressing the CKDnT epidemic among sugarcane workers...

The MoMA Library
By Xiaoze Xie
Located in Surfside, FL
This piece is part of an ongoing project entitled "Fragmentary Views" (2001 - Present) by Xiaoze Xie, which is a series of paint-compositions based upon photographs of found newspaper piles. For Xie, stacks of printed pages represent not only cultural memory and the passage of time, but the ways in which history is interpreted and recorded according to various belief systems and political agendas. This is a lithograph, signed, dated 2006, and numbered 28/30
The artist continues his ongoing series of works, Fragmentary Views (2001 to present), which explores the vulnerability and fragmentary nature of historical memory, and the general and superficial perception of world events in the age of ready global media. The paintings depict stacked newspapers where only bits of information are visible-a greater understanding is implicit, but just out of view.
"What interests me most is the temporary nature of this mundane object loaded with all-encompassing information of changing daily life: from the front-page news to stock market columns to birth announcements and obituaries. Newspapers are recycled. Life goes on." - Xiaoze Xie
In the compressed stacks of newspapers, viewers will notice partial images of fragile life in Baghdad, distraught looks of disbelief of suicide attack victims, the building site of the World Trade Center, campaigns against Fa Lung Gong, and, more recent events that are closer to home. The gravity of these events is muffled as it is embedded in the mundane scroll of daily life.
Xiaoze Xie immigrated from the People's Republic of China in 1992, where he was born and studied art and architecture. He has MFA degrees from Beijing and North Texas University, and taught at Bucknell University before assuming his post as Professor of Art at Stanford.
His works are in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and distinguished private collections.

High Energy
By Randy Ford
Located in Boca Raton, FL
One cannot appreciate this painting on a computer screen; in real life, it is absolutely amazing. Because you cannot appreciate it on a computer screen, our gallery has a unique policy. When purchasing from us, the buyer has sixty days to determine if they want to keep the artwork. If not, the buyer returns the piece to us for full refund, and we pay the shipping both ways!
A collector should consider several factors when deciding from whom to purchase artwork online.
Check the location of the seller. When one buys from a foreign seller, one also has to consider the problems of getting the piece through Customs. There are often delays and considerable fees to pay in order to import the item. When purchasing from us, we ship the same day and you receive it via FedEx the next day, no problems or hassles.
When one purchases from an auction house, one pays a buyer’s premium of anywhere from 23% to 28% over the “hammer price”. So when one “wins” an auction for $20,000, the actual price paid is more like $25,000. By contrast, when purchasing from us, the price agreed to is the price paid by the buyer, no hidden fees.
Secondly, when one purchases from an auction house, the buyer pays the packing and shipping fee, which are usually exorbitant. By contrast, when purchasing from us, the price includes packing and shipping.
Thirdly, when one purchases from an auction house, the sale is final. If one receives the piece and is not 100% satisfied with it, there is nothing the buyer can do about it. They are stuck with it. By contrast, when purchasing from us, the buyer has sixty days to determine if they want to keep it. If not, the buyer returns to piece to us for full refund, and we pay the shipping both ways.
