Born in Carnaveigh County, Monaghan, Ireland in 1875, Robert Gauley was a portrait, figure and landscape painter. Around 1884, his family emigrated to the United States and made Boston their home.
Gauley began his art training under Denman Waldo Ross in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1890, he received formal instruction at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, studying under Edmund C. Born in Vinhedo, a small town on the outskirts of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Walter Briski, Jr. began his interests in photography at the age of thirteen. He later moved to the city of Sao Paulo to pursue his passion, and after completing his studies at the Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Campinas, he began his career as a fashion photographer working with top national magazines such as “Brazilian Vogue,” “Brazilian Interview,” and “Trip.”
Soon after, Briski moved to New York City in pursuit of advancing his career. In search of strengthening his art, he learned to master the technique of black-and-white printing while employed at a highly ranked film production house. There, he printed works for artists such as Bruce Weber, Annie Leibovitz, Gordon Parks, Matthew Barney, Steven Klein, Steven Meisel, Steven Sebring, and Ellen Von Unwerth.
In the midst of printing images that were reproduced in magazines such as “Vogue,” “Harper’s Bazaar,” “W,” “L’Uomo Vogue,” “I.D.,” “Arena,” “The New York Times Magazine,” and “Interview,” he also began printing his own photographs. Briski has had the wonderful opportunity to work with top models and celebrities, including the Brewer twins, Carole King...

Luca Campigotto uses big equipment to capture big subjects, from the absolute vibrant density of 5POINTZ at night, to the eerie stillness of the stone statues on Easter Island, to sweeping cityscapes of Manhattan and Chicago skylines. His photographic expeditions have taken him to disparate and exotic locations around the world – Japan, India, Thailand, Cambodia in the Far East; many European and North American cities; as well as Cairo, Lapland, Argentina, and Easter Island.
Campigotto uses both large-format and digital cameras for his projects. His cityscapes feature blurred lines of traffic recorded over long exposures, in bustling settings like Times Square, and yet a stillness pervades his work, a sense of vulnerability. Some of his 5POINTZ images were captured just days before the buildings were white-washed; his Argentine glacier is retreating; the Easter Island statues stand testament to lost civilizations.
