An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George VI English sterling silver and agate handled presentation trowel in the Art Deco style, boxed; an addition to our diverse presentation silverware collection
This exceptional antique George VI agate and sterling silver trowel has a triangle, angular shaped blade in the Art Deco style.
The anterior face of the blade features an extended protruding angular border embellished with bands of tooled decoration.
The ornamentation to the blade incorporates the contemporary engraved presentation inscription:
'Presented to The Right Honorable The Lord Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne, Alderman Gilbert Oliver, J.P. upon Laying the Foundation Stone for the New Artillery Barracks, 7th July 1938'.
The reverse of the blade is plain and unembellished, apart from the featured hallmarks.
