Midcentury Trumeau Handpainted in Italy Wood Venetian Art Technique by Cupioli
By Cupioli made in Italy
Located in Rimini, IT
This Trumeau has been handmade using the technique of Venetian art.
In the 18th century in Venice the fashion of lacquering spread. Using small prints, cut out and then glued on the wood, then handpainted and lacquered at the end. The finishing was in fact in shellac which, passed in several very thin layers, gave brightness and uniformity to the decoration. This type of finishing was placed both on the outside of the Venetian furniture of the eighteenth century, and on the inside of the drawers and doors . The wooden structure of this piece of furniture is hidden by a flowering of pleasant designs.
The craquelé finishing tipical of ancient painting...

Chinese Antique Colonial Showcase in Fine Wood
Located in Milano, IT
Gorgeous antique showcase of fine French manufacture, created for English colonists, belonging to the 1800s.
This stunning display case is made entirely of a very fine dark wood, fabulously crafted and embellished.
There are 4 feet to support the structure, S-shaped in fine wood, black in color, very durable. The feet are decorated with simply fantastic wooden spheres. Above we see a rectangular frame decorated like a frieze, with various squiggles and wooden spheres that go to create bunches of grapes, which give a really beautiful and scenic effect.
Going up we see two window opening doors, very beautiful, with spherical wooden handles. The decorations are located in the center of the rectangle of the sash: the subject is a flowering tree branch with a sweet little bird perched on it, supreme nature prevails.
Going up further rises the showcase proper, again framed by the wood used for the base. There is a central handle at the left side, which helps to open the one window sash...

Tommi Parzinger for Charak Modern Display Cabinet, c 1955, Signed
By Tommi Parzinger, Charak Furniture Company
Located in Los Angeles, CA
A rare collectors item, this fully restored Tommi Parzinger for Charak Modern (c. 1955) display cabiinet / vitrine, features beautiful french polish with Parzinger's signature statement door handles. Signed with Charak Modern label on the backside of the upper cabinet.
This refined and sophisticated Parzinger credenza with glass display hutch is perfect for those high-end luxury pads looking for an incredible and collectible statement piece, which Parzinger was known to create. The gorgeous color is close to the Hermès orange, but perhaps a little bit deeper and bolder - perhaps somewhere between Hermès orange and blood orange. Beauty in every detail, from the cross-cut glass panes, to the upper flared embellishments and the signature Parzinger door handles.
Let's not skip one more aspect of this table that is equally important - the collectors appeal. Furniture by Tommi Parzinger is one of the most sought-after and cherished items of sophisticated collectors. This isn't for your typical Eames and George Nelson collector, it is much more for a refined collector, perhaps a connoisseur of fine rarities. The quality of the materials and craftsmanship and design details are something to be admired. Parzinger and Charak Modern designed and crafted some of the highest quality furniture of the early and mid 20th Century. That was at a time when US manufacturing was at its best. And now in this day and age of cheap products not meant to last - this table is your daily reminder that 'they don't make them like they used to.'
We restored this incredible sideboard display cabinet with hand-applying a new French Polish lacquer. French Polish is the most laborious and expensive finish because it requires many repetitive coats and each one hand polished to a fine glass-like finish, and while it is very expensive, it is worth it for rare and valuable pieces like this Tommi Parzinger vitrine. The results are nothing short of spectacular - such a smooth, clear and deep finish - it looks almost like a sheet of glass (much more incredible in-person than you can see (or touch / feel) in the photos). And besides how incredible it looks - it will also protect your investment for the decades ahead. This Parzinger cabinet is an ideal example for the most discriminating interior designer client or collector.
This french polish cabinet...

A real statement piece!
Made of a fabulous variety of veneers, including kingwood, satinwood, tulipwood, harewood and walnut with quality classical ormolu mounts.
It has ebonized pillars in the Empire style, with walnut and exotic hardwood friezes in the Rococo style.

The glass on the doors are framed in ormolu banding.
Floral Marquetry panels on front and parquetry on the sides.
The front central section is a pullout / pull-out drawers with gorgeous walnut frieze panel and original carved walnut knobs.
Scrolling pelmet on the top in 3 sections banded in ormolu beading.
Scrolling base with cabriolet feet and ormolu mounts on base.
Various ormolu mounts, floral mounts, mounts of Baachus and mounts of neoclassical female figures.
In 3 sections. with 2 side cabinets and large central section with 3 section pelmet, stunning piece!!!
The quality ormolu mounts are marked with the letter “R” and what appears to be “FR 678”.
We were originally of the belief that this piece might have been made at the very end of the 19th century, but having regard to the quality of workmanship throughout this piece we are of the opinion that it was most likely made in the third quarter of the 19th century, circa 1870 and by an obviously top quality Parisienne maker with a surname beginning with “R”.
It is definitely in the style of David Roentgen who was known for his Rococo/neoclassical styles.
David Roentgen, (born Aug. 11, 1743-died Feb. 12, 1807, Wiesbaden, Duchy of Nassau), cabinetmaker to Queen Marie-Antoinette of France; under his direction the family workshop at Neuwied (near Cologne), founded by his father, Abraham Roentgen, became perhaps the most-successful firm of furniture production in the 18th century.
After succeeding his father as head of the Neuwied workshop in 1772, Roentgen strove to broaden their clientele, an ambition that brought him first to Hamburg and ultimately to Paris (1774), where in 1779 he was spectacularly successful in selling his finest furniture to King Louis XVI of France for £3,300 to £4,000, an unprecedented sum for the time.
Appointed cabinetmaker to the queen, Roentgen was granted admission (1780) as maître-ébéniste (master cabinetmaker) to the trade corporation of Paris cabinetmakers, making it possible for him to keep in Paris a stock of the furniture manufactured at Neuwied. Thus he was able to compete with such great cabinetmakers as Jean-Henri Riesener and Adam Weisweiler, reputedly his former pupil at Neuwied. After his first visit to St. Petersburg, Empress Catherine II the Great bought huge quantities of his furniture; King Frederick William II of Prussia was also his client. When in 1795 the French Revolutionary armies threatened to cross the Rhine, Roentgen evacuated his establishment and moved his stock farther inland. Unfortunately, he lost everything in his Parisian salon and in his Neuwied workshop, both of which were sacked by Republican troops. He was crushed, despite his appointment as court furnisher to the king of Prussia. Although he never succeeded in starting production again, former apprentices of his whom he helped to establish in the German cities of Berlin (David Hacker...

French Louis XV Style Ormolu and Vernis Martin Vitrine Attributed to F. Linke
By François Linke
Located in Los Angeles, CA
A very fine French 19th century Louis XV style ormolu mounted plum pudding mahogany veneer, mahogany and Vernis Martin decorated vitrine à Deux Corps, probably by François Linke (1855-1946). The lower structure fitted with finely chased gilt-bronze mounts with female masks, musical instruments, floral drapes, bows and acanthus, centred with a frieze drawer and a cupboard door with three painted panels. The centre front painted panel with a Romantic courting park setting scene amongst sheep and a sculpture fountain of Putti; the side panels both with parks scenes of a resting lion sculpture and fountain flanked by grassing sheep. The lower cabinet interior with three drawers, the upper vitrine case with two glass shelves, a bowed beveled front door and sides, crowned with a fine gilt-bronze wreath mount with ribbons, all raised on four cabriolet legs with cast lion paw mounts. Unsigned, Paris, circa 1890-1900.
The style of this cabinet is closely related to those produced in the Paris furniture making trade in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in the 1880s and as such, without a signature or identifying mark, is unattributable. However, there are similarities with the firm Raoux et Brunet, some of whose mounts were designed by Léon Messagé and later used by François Linke. Indeed many of the mounts on this cabinet, whilst not exclusive to him, are very similar to the work produced in his early years in Paris in the 1880s. At this time Linke was making furniture to order...
