New York Arts Week 2015

There has been so much art activity on the island of Manhattan this week, the mind reels. Adding to one's general sense of visual overload is the fact that the long-established Armory Show is held nowhere near an armory; it's found on two piers along the Hudson River (one housing contemporary art from a vast array of international dealers; the other modern masters). Meanwhile, New York's quintessential armory — the Seventh Regiment Armory, whose formidable red brick facade presides over Park Avenue — houses a fair that is officially called the Art Show, and which is the annual gathering of select members of the Art Dealer's Association of America (ADAA).
Got it? Now let us remind you about the concurrent fairs, Volta, Pulse and Art on Paper, which have enjoyed successful weekend runs in various venues around the city. That's a lot to take in — and if you’ve hit even half, kudos to you. And if you haven’t, then take a deep breath, seek a comfortable seat and enjoy this special New York Arts Week collection we've put together of key pieces — by William Wegman, Nan Golden, Teresita Fernández, Adam Fuss and countless other highly collectible artists — on offer from our participating dealers. The fairs all close Sunday, but happily 1stdibs Fine Art is open year-round.
