Couture Sculptural Theron Platinum Channel Set Natural White Diamond Necklace
Located in Bozeman, MT
THERON Pendant Necklace by Ashley Childs Ashley Childs designed this diamond, platinum and 18K gold collection based on the affect of fine, subtle sculptural movement while using the tiniest of graduatated diamonds, as a way to enhance the movement with each twist and curvature of the metal form. The graduated and sometimes, anticlastic turns of her pieces in this collection are incredibly calculated to the finest millimeter.  Her attention to the graduated channel-set, diamond-detail is impeccable (and had to be - as to enhance the idea that the diamonds might be slowly growing out of the crevices and edges of each form).  Her choice in using platinum for most of the heavier pieces is quite purposeful.  Platinum holds a delicate, soft-white, greyish luster, almost like the color of fog.  Platinum also holds the softest, metallurgical properties, scoring a 4-4.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness.  It is much different from that of gold, silver or steel.  From start to finish, every aspect of the designs became a bold, emotional investment for Ashley Childs.  Her pieces are an ode the fine art of movement's discerning subtlety.   DETAILS: Long, sculptural, tube, sliding pendant made in platinum with 0.63cts of VVS, natural, white diamond detail, channel-set along the front-left crevice edge and right-side's front crevices and edging. This pendant measures 3 inches long and reseides on a 2mm, 18K white gold omega chain...

In 1965 he authored the book Dadaism about the history of the Dada movement. He was born in Berlin into a well-to-do family and died in Minusio, near Locarno, Switzerland. From Expressionism through Dadaism, Constructivism and Neoplasticism, he was one of the major figures of avant-garde art in the 1910s and 1920s and a catalyst for intellectuals and artists in many disciplines. Richter helped organise exhibitions which revived interest in Dada, both in the United States and Europe. In 1956 he made Dadascope, a film dedicated to Dada poetry. Richter moved from Switzerland to the United States in 1940 and became an American citizen. Beginning in 1941 he taught at the Institute of Film Techniques at the City College of New York before taking over as director. While living in New York City, Richter directed two feature films, Dreams That Money Can Buy (1947) and 8 x 8: A Chess Sonata in 8 Movements (1957) in collaboration with Max Ernst, Jean Cocteau, Paul Bowles, Fernand Léger, Alexander Calder, Marcel Duchamp, and others, which was partially filmed on the lawn of his summer house in Southbury, Connecticut. In 1957, he finished a film entitled Dadascope with original poems and prose spoken by their creators: Hans Arp, Marcel Duchamp, Raoul Hausmann, Richard Huelsenbeck, and Kurt Schwitters. After 1958, Richter spent parts of the year in Ascona and Connecticut and returned to painting. Peggy Guggenheim organized his first solo show in the United States in which his large painted scrolls, inspired by the Second World War, featured prominently. In 1963, he directed the short film From the Circus to the Moon about the American artist Alexander Calder. In 1965, Richter was also the author of a first-hand account of the Dada movement titled Dada: Art and Anti-Art which also included his reflections on the emerging Neo-Dada artworks. Note: Dadaism is a cultural and artistic movement created in order to counteract the arts, which emerged in 1916 at the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. It was proposed by Hugo Ball...

Located in Miami, FL
Geometric necklace designed by Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) for Georg Jensen. Very rare geometric piece from the Scandinavian design, created in Denmark, by Nanna Ditzel back in the 1960's. Crafted with beautiful precision in solid .925 sterling silver with a 18 kt gold vermeil. This geometric sculptural necklace is composed by 15 semicircular curved elements attached with circled links and suited with a discrete push lock with a hinged safety figure 8 for extra security, Has a total weight of 273.5 grams, and an inside measure of 18 inches 45.75 Cm). The width measure is 30 mm (1.19 inches). Stamped, with the post 1945 Georg Jensen cartouche, the assay hallmark and signed, "GEORG JENSEN NJ 925S 129". Nanna Ditzel, born in 1923. Was a Danish designer graduated from the furniture department of the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen. Has been studying under prof. Kaare Klint at the Royal Academy of Copenhagen. Nanna Ditzel is working with experimental and industrial design furniture, textiles, silver, faience and glass. Has experimented with the use of split-level living for indoors and outdoors. The ideas have been carried through in playgrounds, children libraries and showrooms. Freelance designer, she has a design office and showrooms in London. Nanna Ditzel started independent design office in 1946 together with Jorgen Ditzel. The co-operation lasted until the death of Jorge Ditzel in 1961. Nanna Ditzel created many designs for Georg Jensen, mostly jewelry although she also created some hollowware. The relationship between the couple and the Silversmith began when Nanna decided to start designing jewelry as something she could do at home while her children slept. Soon after, a jewelry competition sponsored by A. Michelsen arose, and her designs had won first prize. Later on, in 1954, Finn Juhl, who was developing the 50th anniversary exhibition, passed the design work off for the exhibition to the Ditzels. Five pieces of jewelry were created for this exhibit, which were very well received. Further jewelry designs were created, and many of these pieces would go on to win various awards and prizes. In 1968, Nanna Ditzel remarried to Kurt Heide and relocated to London where they continued to work in the realm of design, establishing their own company Nanna Ditzel Productions Ltd. In 1986, her second husband passed away, and she moved back to Denmark, continuing her work. In recent years, Ditzel has focused mainly on furniture design, such as the Trinidad chair in 1993, however this design has also led to the further refinement for her jewelry pieces such as the bracelet #389 in 1994. Ditzel has won many major awards during her long career and has had her work exhibited all over the world. She received the silver and gold medals at the Milan Tirennale (1954 and 1960), the Lunning Prize (with Jorgen Ditzel in 1954) and a gold medal at the International Furniture Design Competition in 1990, and the Thorvald Bindesboll Medal in 1999. She has also taken on the title of Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog, Honorable Royal Designer ( 1996). From Georg Jensen Hollowware...
