Hans Rudolf Hentschel Furniture

German, b. 1869

Hans Rudolf Hentschel was a German porcelain painter and etcher. Along with his younger brother Konrad Hentschel, he was one of the most important representatives of the Art Nouveau period in Meissen. Rudolf Hentschel created various painted decorations as well as some new types of dishes, including the most important Meissen Art Nouveau Dinner Set called T-glatt. The painted decorations he created also include Flügelmuster (Pattern of Wings), Krokusmuster (Pattern of Crocus) and Arnikamuster (Pattern of Arnika). All of them very aesthetic and of the finest quality. Beyond that, Rudolf Hentschel designed vases and figurines such as the Lady clad in Riding Costume with Greyhound or Female Tennis Player.
