Awesome vintage Mid-Century Modern walnut & cane flip top storage twin headboards, a pair. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the interior storage space has been painted black to finish it off. But even though the tops have been sanded, there are still some stubborn stains on both tops. And a few minor scratches and nicks on the sides & face. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. Serious question… What are TWINS’ favorite fruit??? PEARS!!! Get it!! LOL… Ok, well, This is a fabulous “pair” of “twin” sized headboards comprised of walnut frames, rectangular natural cane insets, and they have a flip top feature which reveals a totally open interior storage space!!! I mean… That’s a MASSIVE amount of storage!!! Not to mention… a GREAT hiding place!! HaHa!! Just kidding… don’t do that!! The interior of the storage space has been painted black and they are lined with natural cedar… no moths allowed!! We believe this duo was custom made and they are ready to grace your home with their Mid-Century Modern MAGNIFICENCE!!! They would be wonderful together in a bedroom separated with a nightstand between or separate them and use one in one bedroom and one in another, or…set them beside each other, turn the twin mattress sideways OR place one on each end of a twin mattress and you have a unique daybed or chaise! This is a spectacular solid maple twin sized headboard and footboard bearing a beautiful rectangular shape with lovely, hand-carved, or hand-sculpted rounded edges. We will include metal siderails upon purchase. This is a classic beauty with an Art Moderne style that you are sure to love for years to come. It is designed in a style after Russel Wright for Conant Ball or Bissman. My mother (who is a retired interior designer and has been identifying vintage pieces since before I was born… and I am vintage myself!!) believes the actual style is a copy after Russel Wright but the construction leads her to believe it’s Bissman. It is not marked, but no matter, it is INCREDIBLE!! The design world calls these transition pieces… of the era when pieces transitioned between the Art Deco period and the Mid-Century Modern period, during the early portion of the 20th century. Ahhhhh, the good ‘ol days!! LOVE IT!!! The maple bears a beautiful natural shade and it features clean lines, a timeless presence, and simple design sure to blend in beautifully with any décor.
