This vintage smokey gray gradient blown glass cinched decanter bottle was designed by Michael Bang for Holmegaard. It is called the Kluk Kluk. He was a major designer for the company. This is from the 1960s. What is most unusual about this is the rare crown stopper that was only made for the Danish markets. This was brought back from Denmark by a collector. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver mounted glass claret jug, an addition to our wine and drink related collection. This exceptional antique Victorian glass and sterling silver claret jug has a circular rounded, globular form. The elevated cylindrical neck is fitted with a fine and impressive plain sterling silver hallmarked mount with the original hallmarked hinged cover. The anterior surface of the cover is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest displaying a dove with wings elevated hold in the beak a laurel branch, standing on a column. The cover is surmounted with a simplified lobed silver thumbpiece. This antique Victorian claret jug is fitted with a plain angular handle in the iconic Design style; the style of this handle is ahead of its time. The plain glass body of the jug is ornamented with a star cut base. Dimensions: Length from back of handle to tip of lip 10.2cm/4". Diameter 12.5cm/4.9". Height 19.6cm/7.7".
