Leslie Zelamsky Sculptures

American, b. 1965
Leslie Zelamsky is a mixed media artist who creates paintings, sculptures and installations. Her paintings celebrate the contrasting aspects of the mind’s use of intuition and deliberate action. She uses paint, tar, stain, and other materials to create abstract images that reference architecture, light and space. Zelamsky’s sculpture explores the ideas of separation, inclusion and isolation; reflected in commonplace structures, through the use of common building materials. Zelamsky’s forms are concurrently architectural and organic. Physicality is an important part of the artist’s work as she seeks synergy between visual and physical weight. Intuition and process are fundamental as are allowing and patience. While Zelamsky’s sculpture and installations lean to political and societal issues, there is also an inherent seductive, aesthetic beauty in the form, space and texture. Zelamsky’s goal is to provide the viewer with an image that allows an ethereal experience. She is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
