    Libbey glass is more than 100 years old. Amos Binney, Edmund Munroe, Daniel Hastings and Deming Jarves founded the company as the New England Glass Company on February 16, 1818. In 1883, Edward Drummond Libbey became president of the company, and in 1888, he relocated it from New England to Toledo, Ohio. The company was renamed in his honor in 1892.
