Max Garner Reidy Black and White Photography

Max Garner Reidy, is a photographer from North West London. His work, Elephantis was amongst those being exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. The photograph of the Elephant was taken whilst visiting Cape Town with his father who was filming out there. He fell in love with the wildlife in South Africa and brought home photos of Elephants, Rhinos, Zebras and Giraffes, amongst others. He uses his unique style to bring the images to life, concentrating on those finer details that show each animal’s beauty and character. He was invited to be the official photographer of “Watersprite” at the film festival at Cambridge University. He also covered a record launch for Sony Record’s Country and Western section. These opportunities have allowed him to work on film sets in the UK as well as South Africa, capturing images of many well-known faces. After his A0 piece at the Royal Academy of Art was sold, he continued to offer his unique pieces to customers up and down the country.

Max Garner Reidy Elephantis Limited Edition High quality Photographic print Edition of 40 Sold Unframed Image Size: Image Height 84.1cm (33.1″), Image Width 118.9cm (46.8″) This is a monochromatic limited edition photographic print by Max Garner Reidy Elephantis was a Bull Elephant, taken in South Africa, whilst on a safari. When greeted by a small group Elephants I couldn’t help but notice how small their tusks were. I asked the ranger, why their tusks are so small. He replied “Sadly in Africa the Elephant population is now made up, predominantly of Elephants with shorter tusks. This is a result of poachers, killing longer tusked Elephants, in order to feed the illegal Ivory trade. This results in an unnatural form of “natural selection”, whereby the Elephants most likely to survive long enough to reproduce, are those with short tusks.” My name is Max Garner Reidy, I’m a 20-year-old photographer from North West London. My work, ‘Elephantis’ was recently amongst those being exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition...
