Piet Zwart was a Dutch photographer, typographer and industrial designer. He went to the National School of Applied Arts in Amsterdam. Zwart worked for a company called NKF for whom he designed his corporate image. With that style, he managed to develop one of the most complete and best resolved corporate images of the early 20th century. The resolution of complex communication systems was his primary concern and achievement. Zwart was influenced by the artistic avant-garde, be it Cubism, Futurism, Dadaism, Constructivism, De Stijl. But it did not belong integrally or exponentially to any.
