The Oregon Chair Company was incorporated in 1906 and founded by Arthur Kingsley, the manufactory was located on five acres on Macadam Street (three miles from the center of Portland) with access to the Willamette River, so logs could be floated easily to their saw mill. The Oregon Chair Co made high quality solid oak furniture in the American Mission style rivaling the quality and style of the furniture produced by their contempororaries; Stickley Brothers.
