Art Deco Collection Serving Pieces

A silver and mirrored centerpiece, elaborate and ornamental from the late 1920s. The great metalwork was created by Orfevrerie Dilecta, a French company that specialized in these pieces (often called Jardinieres). They began production in the Art Nouveau Period, later evolving into the geometric floral patterns of the Art Deco era. This one, in delicately hand crafted silver is stamped on the bottom with the initials” A G ” and ” France” and it dates from the 1920s. A chalice is a special cup of grand size used in nearly every religion on earth for a ceremonial purpose: to hold sacred wine or sacred waters, to convey a blessing and even the occasional curse.
