Extraordinary + Fun, Red and Aqua Acrylic Wreath Drop Earrings by Nikki Couppee
Located in Morgan Hill, CA
Red and Aqua Wreath Drop Earrings are made from acrylic gemstones set in brass frames with sterling silver and fine silver ear components. Each ‘stone’ is hand cut, sanded, and polished to resemble her own version of gemstones that sparkle with holographic material. By utilizing multiple gauges of acrylic and brass these earrings are large, but lightweight and easy to wear. About the Artist: Nikki Couppee is originally from Pensacola Beach, Florida and currently resides in Oakland, California. She holds an MFA in Jewelry/ Metals from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio and a BFA in Jewelry/ Metals from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Her work examines the connection between adornment and social status. Using non-traditional materials such as acrylic, brass, holographic foil, and found objects, Couppee creates jewelry that appears opulent. By utilizing time-intensive processes, she further references the language of fine jewelry, with the intention of elevating the work. Using everyday materials, she is able to exaggerate the size and abundance of gems to parody class issues inherent in fine jewelry. Couppee's work has been featured in many publications including American Craft, Allure Australia, Marie Claire Australia, Metalsmith Magazine, Modern Magazine, Vogue Brazil, Daily Candy and Lark Book's 500 Enameled Objects. She exhibits her work globally through exhibitions, gallery representation, fairs and recent runway collaborations for Paris' Fashion Week and Australian Fashion Week with designers Romance was Born.

"Carved Circle & Square Axis Earrings" ethically sourced rose gold, contemporary
Located in Morgan Hill, CA
Forged by Providence, Rhode Island based Jewelry Artist, Heather Guidero, this bold pair of earrings feature a circle and a square made from Rose Gold with a push back post. The graphic lines, textures, and patterns of her work are inspired by elements of modernist design, fashion, and urban architecture. Innately wearable, Heather’s collection boldly accentuates your personal style, her considerations of natural movement enabling the jewelry to come alive when worn. About Heather Guidero Having grown up under the open skies of rural Indiana, surrounded by animals and agriculture, Heather Guidero early on discovered a love for drawing everything in sight. A community arts center class led to her surprising fascination with jewelry and two decades later, she is as enamored with the metalsmithing process as ever. It shows in her masterfully handcrafted collection of contemporary fine jewelry. Formally trained at RISD, Heather worked as a goldsmith for renowned jewelry company Reinstein/Ross in New York before returning to Providence, Rhode Island to launch her namesake collection in 2005. Her interest in using line to render drawings three-dimensionally results in unique explorations of volume, movement, and pattern that transform into personal and interactive sculpture on the body. “Settling in at my bench and picking up my favorite antique files is as natural and reflexive as breathing. There's something comforting about the feel of my favorite tools in hand and being able to turn a sheet of metal or length of wire into a piece of jewelry that will be treasured and worn on a regular basis.” The graphic lines, textures, and patterns of her work are inspired by elements of modernist design, fashion, and urban architecture translated into ethically-sourced gold and silver. Select pieces are accented by brilliant diamonds or colorful gemstones. Innately wearable, Heather’s collection boldly accentuates your personal style, her considerations of natural movement enabling the jewelry to come alive when worn. Her work has been featured at prominent museums and galleries across the country including the Museum of Art and Design (NYC), DeNovo (Palo Alto, CA), and Jewelerswerk (Washington DC). She also regularly presents new work at wholesale shows such as the American Craft Council Wholesale Show and the Buyers Market of American Craft. Every piece in Heather’s collection is constructed and finished by hand in her Providence studio. In balance with her studio practice, Heather teaches jewelry classes around Providence, where she helps teens and young adults learn new metalsmithing skills. "Tenitic Necklace Long " a contemporary, fine gauge stainless steel necklace
Located in Morgan Hill, CA
Crafted by the brilliant mind of Taos, New Mexico based jeweler, Julie Lake. This layered hexagonal necklace looks both modern and delicate. Made from incredibly strong spring tempered and fuse welded stainless steel. Ultra reflective surface interacts with the light as the body moves. This piece is hypoallergenic and non-tarnishing making it the perfect necklace for everyone. Bio Julie Lake hand fabricates her metal work exclusively from a spring tempered, fine gauge stainless steel. She uses an arc welding process at precise settings to join the metal by melting and fusing it together at the tiny joints. The nature of this stainless steel, along with the welding process, allows Lake to create complex and visually fragile, yet deceptively strong forms with very small diameter wires. Although the welding of steel is typically regarded as an industrial process, Lake likens her technique to the domestic act of sewing or knitting. By way of welding, she methodically and repetitively stitches together the threads of stainless steel which accumulate into larger forms. Her decision to only create with this very specific material is quite minimalistic, but Lake engages with the material with multidisciplinary intent. Her work spans from large scale art installation, to design-driven functional items, to wearable and decorative pieces rooted in fine craft. This multidisciplinary approach allows the individual pieces to cross-pollinate with and inform each other. Lake's training as a maker started at a very young age. Her father, Ron Lake, is a machinist who went on to establish a career creating fine folding knives...

Gliding by Clark Mitchell
Located in Morgan Hill, CA
Created by California based artist, Clark Mitchell, Gliding is an invigorating pastel painting of a sublime shoreside of a pond featuring an enigmatic array of greens, blues, violets, and oranges, with some palm trees, ducks and swans in the middle ground.  Growing up in the shadow of the Rockies, Clark Mitchell very early discovered a love of the natural world. Given a set of fine old German pastels by his father when quite young, he quickly embraced the medium for its ease of handling, brilliance of color and portability. He received a bachelor’s degree in art from Colorado College in the seventies and moved to San Francisco to continue his studies at the Academy of Art College. Through personal exploration as well as study with artists Albert Handell, Skip Whitcomb, Michael Lynch and Bill Hook, Mitchell has developed the talent to create both tightly rendered scenes as well as looser, more abstract suggestions. In order to fully immerse himself in the countryside he loved to portray, Mitchell left San Francisco with his partner over thirty years ago and moved north to the beautiful Sonoma County wine country...

"Leisure Pool 1" - Woodcut Print of Swimming Pool Backyard Aerial View in Blue
By Kristen Martincic
Located in Morgan Hill, CA
"Leisure Pool 1" is a multilayered woodcut print by Missouri artist Kristen Martincic. This print is part of a series that was inspired by backyard pool shapes and the aerial view that the artist saw as she flew over a Dallas / Fort Worth neighborhood. The pool is printed in several layers of turquoise ink which reveal translucent steps at the entrance of the pool and a richer color as the pool deepens. A glossy white border surrounds the pool providing a contrast to the texture and color of the print. A subtle wood-grain pattern has been transferred from the wood printing block onto a cream-colored gampi paper. The print has several tiny brown flecks which are inclusions from the papermaking process. This print is part of a series of 4 prints (see last photo). To view the rest of Kristen's series of pool prints...
