"Mountain Path" Japanese landscape painting mineral pigments on silk nature
By Maki Kuchida
Located in Kowloon, Hong Kong
Mountain Path is a 2020 landscape work by Maki Kuchida. This is a much sought-after landscape work by Maki, demonstrating her delicate painting skills with so much details in one work - the nature environment, trees with various forms and shapes, flowers, the river and the colorful coyotes as if all inside a mirage of the mountain. The mountain path leads you into a stage where the sky and the earth merge into one universe, the realm of the soul. Maki combines the Japanese landscape painting technique with the Chinese one thus her landscape work is unique in its own way. Coyotes are mascots that appear very often in Maki's landscape paintings. The painted size of the work is approx. 54 x 38cm, while the framed size is approx. 74x58cm. It is framed with archival grade mount. There will be a certificate of authenticity issued with your acquisition. Maki's paintings may seem deceptively simple at first but indeed the colors and texture are achieved through a labor-intensive and time-consuming process as painting on silk for one color requires at least 8 layers of pigments. Maki paints using mineral pigments on...

"World of Blossoms " 80x80cm floral painting acrylic ink on canvas red flowers
Located in Kowloon, Hong Kong
Fresh from Jean Francois's studio in Brussels, this work captures the blossoming scene of the little wild flowers in the field leaving a harmonious feeling of peacefulness. In Europe when people start seeing these little wild flowers means that summer has finally came. This painting will be shipped already stretched and ready for the wall. BIOGRAPHY OF JEAN FRANCOIS DEBONGNIE Jean-Francois Debongnie, born 1968, a native of Brussels, has been resident in Singapore since 1989. Trained as a photographer then a self-taught painter, Jean-Francois favors large canvases on which he explores the themes that inspire him in series such as “Red flowers”, “Summer”, “Dancing in the wind” and “Landscape – China”. In all these series Jean-Francois brings to life flowers – both as iconographic floral signatures which capture the essential qualities of a flower rather than strict botanical representations and as part of a landscape in fields growing wild amidst ripening grain. The use of Chinese ink adds a dramatic fluidity to all his works. At present, Jean Francois works and lives between Belgium and Singapore. Permanent Collections: Sotheby’s Institute of Art – London Westin Stamford Hotel – Singapore Singapore Airlines...

"White Crow" Japanese landscape painting mineral pigments on silk nature bird
By Maki Kuchida
Located in Kowloon, Hong Kong
White Crow is a 2020 landscape work with a protagonist bird, the white crow by Maki Kuchida. This work demonstrates Maki's delicate painting skills with a lot of details in one work. She applied aluminum leaf on this work to create a perspective in the background. Maki combines the Japanese landscape painting technique with the Chinese one thus her landscape work is unique in its own way. White Crow is the bird of fortune and peace in the Japanese culture. On the bottom right, shadows of another mascot, coyote, can be seen. Coyote is one of Maki's favorite icons which can be found in many of her landscape paintings. The painted size of the work is approx. 27 x 18cm, while the framed size is approx. 47x38cm. "Sipario" contemporary Italian abstract painting oil on canvas gold brown
By Raffaele Cioffi
Located in Kowloon, Hong Kong
Sipario is the curtain of the opera house. Imagine you as audience sitting in front of the curtain, waiting for the show to start: with anticipation, full of curiosity and pleasing expectation of something good going to happen in front of your eyes, it's like life, We are thrilled to wait for the future, even unknown but we will keep going, hoping and preparing to take all the life challenges. Raffaele starts with the basics: he obtains the best quality linen canvas from a nearby mill in Milan, using a classic technique to prepare the canvas according to tradition: with the rabbit skin glue. In traditional oil painting as practiced by the Renaissance painters, rabbit skin glue was used to coat the canvas. This is necessary because the linseed oil that forms the base of most oil paint contains linolenic acid that will affect the canvas fibers over time. The rabbit-skin glue is a natural material that helps to seal the canvas and stretch it. Besides preparing his canvas, he usually creates his preferred oil colors by grinding his own color pigments from mineral colors and mixes oil pigments himself, instead of using commercial industrial color pigments. Raffaele Cioffi's works are highly collectible among European collectors and the interior design professionals. BIOGRAPHY OF RAFFAELE CIOFFI Born in Milan in 1971, Raffaele Cioffi is a passionate lover of painting when in his teens and a graduate from Italy’s top art institution “Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera” in Milan, through years of exploration on light, shadow, lines and shades to reflect on canvas, these are fundamentals for the development of his art language, Raffaele becomes a master in expressing his abstract minimalist perspective through his works. Key Exhibitions and Art Fairs "Soglia" the Contemporary Art Museum in Lissone in 2021 Art Verona, Veneto, Italia, 2018 "Odyssey of Lights" Solo Show, Eye Contemporary Art Gallery...
