Modern black & white sculpture of a Knelling tribal Tattooed African Queen Purchased in France, in the 1960s Unsigned A heavy, impressive, substantial three dimensional work. The sculpted plaster nude female figure, finely modeled with and enameled black body, displaying an extensive 'body suit' of hand-painted Adinkra tribal style tattoos. In general this figures displays Western African tribal symbols, usually associated with Adinkra/Ashanti people of Ghana.
