Late Regency 19th Century Gillows Oak Wine Table
By Gillows of Lancaster & London
Located in Bedfordshire, GB
A very good quality 19th century regency period oak wine table, or lamp table, attributed to gillows of lancaster, having shaped tray top with gadrooned, carved, decoration over moulded reverse tapering column with stylised lotus baluster and elegant swept tripod legs with foliate carved decoration. "Attributed To Gillows." This fine quality, charming little table follows a widely recognised design pattern which features in the Gillows Estimate Sketch Books for 16 July 1822, which refer to a "double round cornered top" and then appear again several times throughout the 1820's and 1830's. The designs are often referred to as "Flower Stands", or "Flower Tables" and there are various different itinerations to be found throuout the Regency and William IV periods. Constructed from charming, warm, rich oak veneers this little table is a great example. The carving is crisp and well executed and it retains a good colour and patina. It also remains in excellent condition and has clearly been well loved and well looked after throughout its history. The dimensions are great. Big enough to be practical and functional, but small enough to go just about anywhere around the home and serve a purpose as an antique lamp table, antique bedside table, antique wine table antique...

Georgian 18th Century Mahogany Wine Table

A Good Quality 18th century, Chippendale Period, Georgian Mahogany Wine Table, Or Lamp Table, Having Well Figured Circular Tilting Top, Retainining Exceptional Colour And Patina, Raised On Turned Central Stem With Wrythen Carved Decoration And Elegant Tripod Legs. Although of relatively typical form for the 18th century Chippendale period, this charming little table boasts quite exceptional colour and patina, as well as a lovely thin top which adds to the overall elegance of the piece. It also has a most elegant column indeed, with well carved wrythen decoration to the bottom end. Incidentally the term wrythen is used to describe the very specific twisted, turned carving found on antique furniture and is also widely used to describe antique glass decoration...

Georgian Mahogany Circular Wine Table
Located in Bedfordshire, GB
A Very Good Quality Late 18th Century, George III Period, Mahogany Wine Table, Having Well Figured Circular Tilting Top Retaining Untouched Colour And Patina With Strung Decoration, Over Elegant Baluster Turned Column With Umbrella Tripod Legs. A simple, elegant and beautiful little table, which is also incredibly functional, this is of relatively typical design for the late 18th century georgian period. Boasting rich, dense, mahogany timbers, alongside a good untouched colour and patina, in combination with the subtle strung inlaid decoration to the edge of the top it has a real touch of class and exudes elegance. The perfect size for an absolute host of spaces around the home, it is both beautiful and practical. It would work just as well alongside a sofa or library chair in the living room to place a drinks glass on top of, as it would in the drawing room with a lamp perched atop, or even in the bedroom as a bedside table. As with all our items this table has been attended to in our worksops by our highly trained, skilled, traditional antique furniture...
