Each and every space should be individual with its own story. We believe in celebrating the importance of material, texture, and craftsmanship. We specialise in combining the old and new, sourcing rare antique pieces to complement our bespoke designs, creating beautifully crafted yet understated spaces, paying particular attention to every single detail.
Murude Katipoglu founded Design Stories 2017. After graduating from studies in Interior Design, she has worked in a number of successful positions at renowned interior design firms in London, broadening her experience in a myriad of unique projects.
Delivering on both beautifully designed spaces and on experiences of living, Murude believes in the careful combination of aesthetic and function.
The studio is built up of a small team of talented designers all hand-picked for their skill-set, impeccable taste and passion. Drawing their inspiration from narratives of past, present and future is at the heart of their practice; whether a piece of aged furniture with patina, architectural details of a building itself or finding alternative ways of incorporating old techniques into a newly crafted piece.
Murude and her team work with artisans, antique dealers and fabric makers and delight in creating projects with integrity. Their aim is to deliver spaces that are timeless and functional with a strong identity, which people want to spend time in.
Design Stories work across commercial and residential interior design and creative direction in the UK and internationally. Their approach is tailored individually to each project, undertaking a full interior architecture and design implementation service, including feasibility studies; space planning; bespoke furniture and lighting design; art and antiques sourcing; site coordination and installation.
