About the Item
This artwork of two women drinking coffee. It is an intriguing piece that captures the complexity of time and its connection to individual experiences.
The artwork is split up into six frames, each one created separately in order to focus on the individual light in each frame. As a result, the overall image appears slightly incohesive, creating a "glitch" in the painting. This glitch could be seen as representing the different time capsules tha t make up the painting, connecting to the idea of time being an abstract concept that can only be experienced individually.
This artwork is a thought-provoking reminder of the different paths that one's life can take, and the unique experiences that make up each journey.
This is a unique, impressionist-style, acrylic on Fabriano paper artwork. Framing is included and different framing options are available. The size of 100 x 150 cm is that of the artwork self, excluding the size of the frame.

Anushka Kempken
Anushka Kempken is an upcoming Cape Town based artist and holds an Honours degree in Fine Art. She explores different ways of manipulating surface materials through weaving techniques, creating ambiguity and depth. Anushka sees her work as a continuation of the organic harmony seen in nature and life. Her art making process is a series of intuitive decisions that result in a chaos and harmony of individual stories that come together. A process of chaos and order. To make her weavings she paints several artworks on paper before cutting them up to recreate a final image. In a series of artworks one can see that the weavings all carry parts of each other. It is in the repetitive motion of cutting and weaving that Anushka discovers a meditative space, through which
the very tactile experience loses shape and form. This allows her to be part of the creative unfolding rather than directing its course. Each rectangle of weaving carries its own story and details, but viewed from afar they merge into one harmonious image. This is synonymous of our human experience, where our daily lives are busy and
chaotic and only by stepping back and detaching from the mind, we discover the harmony.

Hannah's Window, Swimmer, Water, Work on Paper, Red Swimsuit, Female Figure
By Carol Bennett
Located in Riverdale, NY
Hannah's Window is a figurative artwork featuring a female swimmer in a red bathing suit moving through the water. It is a mixed media painting on painted wood grained paper. Artwork is 26 x 20. It is framed to 32 x 26 with a white frame. This is part of the latest series by Hawaii artist, Carol Bennett.
Carol Bennett spends all of her time surrounded by water, and a great deal within it. Her work is a meditative journey through both the water and through life. She is intrigued by how life continues to flow and change, being both in the moment and timeless. The viewer will experience being in a state “flow” – where the currents of the ocean suspend life and self, and the unexpected floats to the surface.
Carol's work has been featured in many solo and group exhibits throughout California, New York, Martha's Vineyard and Hawaii including a 2007 solo show at the First Hawaiian Center at the Contemporary Museum of Art (Honolulu) and a 2018 group show "Making Waves" exhibit at the Honolulu Museum of Art. Her work was seen alongside April Gornik, Agnes Martin, Kiki Smith, and Pat Steir. In 2019, she was also featured in exhibits at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, the Hawaii State Art Museum and a solo exhibit at the Honolulu Museum of Art. She has been featured in Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Ocean Home Magazine and the New York Times. Carol's artwork has also been featured in Designer Showhouses in Westchester NY and the Hamptons, and is part of public and private collections around the world.

1980s Vintage American Street Scene Painting, Landscape with Taxi Cabs
By Val Lewton
Located in Surfside, FL
Val Edwin Lewton (May 23, 1937 – April 24, 2015) was a painter and museum exhibition designer. As an artist, he created Realist acrylic paintings and watercolors of urban and suburban scenes, predominantly in the Washington, D.C., area, where he lived and exhibited.
Val Lewton was born May 23, 1937, in Santa Monica, California. His father, also named Val Lewton, produced a string of successful and influential B movies for RKO Pictures, including Cat People (1942) and I Walked with a Zombie (1943). His mother, Ruth Knapp, was a painter and teacher of autistic children.
He graduated in 1959 from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and earned a master's degree in fine arts from Claremont University in 1962. After moving to Washington, D.C., he served on the staff of the Smithsonian American Art Museum for 32 years, simultaneously maintaining a career as a painter in his own right.
Lewton died in 2015s oon afterwards, exhibitions of his paintings were planned for the Katzen Arts Center (June 17 – August 13, 2017) and Addison/Ripley Fine Art (June 3 – July 8, 2017).
Chiefly known for his landscapes, Lewton generally depicted cities and suburbs with a detached, impersonal sensibility. Writing about his watercolors in Arts magazine in 1980, Harry Rand observed, “Either by implication or statement, personalities are absent from Lewton’s work; there is hardly a sense of the lives that move through those spaces he describes.” The critic compared the artist to Fairfield Porter, Edward Hopper, and Charles Sheeler.
Lewton painted from a young age. On a family trip to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, he discovered the work of Henri Matisse, an encounter that permanently influenced his artistic vision. In the early 1960s, Lewton lived in southern California and taught art classes at the University of California Riverside. During this period, he was inspired by the paintings of Roger Kuntz...
