Original antique travel poster for the French State and Brighton Railway Paris St Lazare to London and the South Coast of England via Dieppe and Newhaven / Chemins de Fer de L'Etat et de Brighton Paris St Lazare a Londres et La Cote Sud d'Angleterre par Dieppe et Newhaven featuring a great design by Maurice Toussaint (1882-1974) depicting a marching band of the British Royal Guards wearing traditional red military uniforms and iconic bear skin hats marching and playing music on drums in a military parade in front of a crowd of people with an historic building in the background, the text in French in stylised lettering in the border above and below with the details - The most economical route Day and night service Large ferries and fastest boats on the Channel / Voie la plus economique Service de jour et du nuit Grandes pacquebots et turbines les plus rapides de la Manche. Printed in Paris. Good condition, restored paper loss on top left corner, restored tears, restored pinholes, ink stamp, backed on linen.
