George Douglas Art
George Douglas was a brilliant photographer of the mid-20th century. In the 1940s, 50s and 60s, he worked for leading magazines of the day — both in Britain and in America — and captured wonderful images of the period. He was a true photojournalist who was interested in everything around him and was equally happy photographing celebrities and charladies, fashion and football, and politicians and people who simply caught his restless eye. All of his negatives were stored in dusty old filing cabinets that were locked for more than 40 years and only rediscovered after his death in 2010.
