Paul Earee was an artist who was professionally trained as an ecclesiastical architect, art teacher and illustrator, using his spare time in painting, etchings and drawing with strong regional content. As an architect, he designed many buildings and interiors in Sudbury including the pulpit of St Gregory's church, a petrol store for Dixon, Scott (1913), two houses in Gainsborough Road for C. E. Dennington (1913), Sudbury Union Hospital additions (1914) and the reseating of Gainsborough Theatre (1914). In 1920, he was a founder of the Sudbury Dramatic Society and a member of Ipswich Art Club 1938–45. Earee was a friend of artists Rowland Suddaby and John Rimmer and he collaborated with H. A. F. Haslewood to paint scenery for the local production of 'Brer Rabbit and Mr. Fox' at the Victoria Hall, Sudbury in 1921. There was a retrospective exhibition "Landscapes and Dreams" at the Quay Theatre in 1983 and Chappel Galleries, Essex in 1996. He married at Sudbury in 1913, Ivy Florence Elliston. He died in Sudbury in 1968, aged 79.

This appealing original oil on canvas painting is by British artist Paul Earee. Painted in a Post Cubist manner circa 1930, this floral still life depicts a vase of flowers on a table in bold blocks of colour. A really vibrant painting in superb tones.

Margaret Dobson was a painter, illustrator, muralist, etcher. Born in Baltimore, MD on Nov. 9, 1888. Dobson studied at the Maryland Institute, PAFA, Fontainebleau School of Art (Paris), and Syracuse University. She studied privately with Daniel Garber, Cecilia Beaux, Violet Oakley, Emil Carlsen, Robert Vonnoh, Hugh Breckenridge, and others. She was active in London, England until 1933. She then settled in Los Angeles where she remained until her death on Jan. 20, 1981. Primarily a muralist, she also painted floral still lifes and landscapes of the Sierra and southern California. Known as Paul Earee, an artist who was a professionally trained as an ecclesiastical architect, art teacher and illustrator, using his spare time in painting, etchings and drawing with strong regional content. In 1922 in an architectural partnership with Noel Haslewood, as Earee & Haslewood at 36 Market Hill, Sudbury. As an architect he designed many buildings and interiors in Sudbury including the pulpit of St Gregory’s church, a petrol store for Dixon, Scott (1913), two houses in Gainsborough Road for C. E. Dennington (1913), Sudbury Union Hospital additions (1914) and the re-seating of Gainsborough Theatre (1914).
