About the Item
Large sculpture of a majestic big cat.
Over the years we have owned and sold a fair number of beautiful quality sculptures in all kinds of materials, but we never had the pleasure of offering a large and majestic wild cat sculpture made of such a naturally colored alabaster. That combined with the perfect anatomy and posture of this top quality sculpture immediately convinced us to purchase it. We love how the sculptor managed to perfectly capture this tiger in its 'stealth mode' just before going in for the kill. What also made us not hesitate was the fact that it is in superb condition and it really has a unique presence. For an alabaster sculpture of some 70 years of age to be in this, superb condition shows the respect that former owners had for it. The signature of the artist is very difficult to read, but he (or she) really outdid himself here because this sculpture truly displays the strength and the majestic look of a tiger in the wild. If you already have a place in mind for this ancient predator, then maybe you should be its next custodian. He will never fail to impress.
