DESCRIPTION This vase has a long cylindrical neck and an elegant orb body that tapes to a foot. The vase has is made of lacquered woven bamboo that is braided around a white porcelain cylindrical insert. It is formed of woven steamed strips of bamboo of circular form resting on a short foot rim. The stained bamboo is woven in plaited and looped designs spiralling upwards with a rich reddish-brown color, which bears a resemblance to leather.

    Wear consistent with age and use. There are 5 (out of 25 altogether) of the thin bamboo strands that are plaited on top of the vase that are broken. This is not very apparent and only visible upon close inspection. The lacquer is bit worn. The vase is beautifully patinated!
