Vase Amphora Hand Painted Ornament Handles Majolica Renaissance Vessel Ceramic

About the Item

This large luxurious amphora, in majolica handmade in Italy and hand-painted in polychrome, is characterized by a dense presence of naturalistic ornamental motifs that decorate the various parts of the vase following the original Renaissance painting technique, unchanged over time, which we observe to the letter. The entire surface of the precious artifact shows curvilinear phytomorphic elements such as racemes, small lilies and peacock feathers: the latter link up according to a compositional criterion based both on the modular repetition of the elements and on the lively contrast of warm and cold colors. The presence of two small masks in the shape of lion heads made in bas-relief, together with two enveloped snakes that make up the handles, enhance the amphora and certify its craftsmanship. Colors: Deruta blue, copper green, yellow, orange, vanadium, purple, carmine red. Visit our storefront to discover the whole deBlona collection. The beauty of a deBlona majolica is determined by the ancient process, unchanged over time and handmade, which we observe to the letter in the creation of our artworks: painting ceramics is a very complex, fascinating and insidious art, but it is precisely the human and imperfect sign that makes every piece so characteristic and totally unique. deBlona's essence is represented by the interpretation of the color and by an unrepeatable taste, with which we want to give new chromatic emotions. Majolica accompanies the history of mankind, telling its existence for centuries: here, in our Atelier, we want to keep on narrating our time.
