Crown Staffordshire Large Porcelain Tudor House Pastille Burner c.1906

About the Item

A large and rare antique porcelain pastille burner modelled as a Tudor House set within a walled garden by Crown Staffordshire and dating from around 1906. English based Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Co Ltd were based in Fenton and were renowned makers of very fine porcelain wares between 1889 and 1985. This particular piece is exceptionally well modelled with a two storey house with two angled elevations with open windows and a central front door set raised on a walled garden with steps leading up to the front door. The house has a tiled roof with single raised open chimney. The building is applied with moss like shrubs and is hand painted in subdued tones of brown, green and black on a white ground. The house has an open section to the back to insert a perfume pastille and has brown printed makers marks to the base. From the extensive private collection of a gentleman of pastille burners and associated wears In good condition with only some minor losses and wear.
