Rare Art Deco Period Sterling Silver-Mounted Glass Owl-Form Match Striker

About the Item

Rare, Art Deco Period, sterling silver-mounted glass owl-form match striker (with original glass eyes), London, England, year-hallmarked for 1925. Excellent detail. Matches are struck on the feathers. Measures 2 3/4 inches high x 2 1/2 inches deep (at deepest point) x 2 3/4 inches wide (at widest point). There are a few minor light scratches on the owl's underside (see photos) and some very minor dints on the sterling silver mount (see photos) that are commensurate with age and use. Dark areas in photos are reflections. In very good antique condition.
