Sterling Silver Cream Jug Creamer by Peter and Ann Bateman

About the Item

A fine and impressive antique George III English sterling silver helmet shaped creamer made by Peter and Ann Bateman; an addition to our Georgian silver teaware collection. This fine antique George III sterling silver cream jug has a helmet shaped form onto a pedestal with a circular spreading foot and plain square base. The upper portion of the plain body is ornamented with embossed concave circular motifs. The surface of the circular spreading foot and square base are embellished with bands of tooled decoration in addition to the contemporary engraved initials 'TDLMM' to the anterior rim. This fine Georgian silver cream jug is fitted with a plain narrow loop handle. This impressive example of antique silverware was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmiths Peter and Ann Bateman. Condition This antique cream jug is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition, in keeping with age. There is natural fire marks to the surface of the cream jug, as to be expected with such a piece. Full hallmarks struck to the rim of the base are all very clear.
