Art Deco Glass and Enamel Knife Rests for Maison Delvaux Paris France 1925

About the Item

Original box of 12 beautiful c1925 enameled glass knife rests by Maison Delvaux with Polychrome Flower Decoration. Unsigned DELVAUX was a prestigious porcelain and crystal retail store, located at 18 rue Royale in Paris. Founded in the 1880s, it specializes in the sale of everyday works of art: decorated glass, earthenware, porcelain, and services from the houses of Haviland, Montigny le Roi, Baccarat, Choisy le Roi, Fontainebleau, Sèvres, Clichy… A decoration workshop was installed in the store where the artists present worked there... The works of famous artists are exhibited and sold: Clément Massier, Félix Optat Milet, Jean Mayodon, Albert Dammouse, Jean Sala, Charles Schneider…. They exhibited at the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels, Paris in 1925.
