Rare Antique Silver Plated Kettle-Drum Tea Set
About the Item
Exceptional and rare, possibly unique, three-piece, silver-plated tea set, comprising a teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl, all authentically modelled as military kettle drums with applied rope-effect mouldings.
Each piece of this silver-plated tea set is mounted on three lion mask and paw legs with the spouts of the teapot and milk jug formed as roaring lion heads and the handles fashioned into coiled belts and buckles. The lids of the teapot and cream jug have flush hinges - a sign of superior quality - with drumstick finials and the interiors of the milk jug and sugar bowl are gilded.
