First edition hardcover, 338 pp. A history of the decorative arts in the Dutch and Flemish regions of Europe from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. It tells of the political, social and industrial connections between England the Netherlands and how trade, whether it be England or the far East, influenced the styles of the decorative arts in furniture, porcelain and art. Illustrations show beds, cabinetry, chairs, tables, and art all from European museum collections.
