Patrick Hamilton -The Slaves of Solitude Published by Constable, London 1947. First edition. Hamilton, cult author of Hangover Square and denizen of seedy pre-war literary London, his plays were adapted by Alfred Hitchcock for film. This was his only novel set during the war. Hardback in original wrappers. Blue cloth and gilt. Wrappers have some small closed tears to edges, light shelf wear with minute loss and chipping to top and bottom edges of wrapper.
