19th Century French Glazed Porcelain Water Filter Pharmacy Display Item
About the Item
This antique ceramic water filter, complete with pewter spout and lid, was created in Provence, France, circa 1870. In the old days, it was used as a promotional display in a Pharmaceutical Shop to advertise the NEW "Filtre Pasteurisateur Mallie Porcelaine Damiante", guaranteed to offer you and your Family pure , unpolluted water and keep you free from illness and disease. Standing alone as an eye catching antique ceramic, but could equally be used with a simple liner to display flowers etc. Excellent condition with rich patinated glazed finish in the pale yellow color. A wonderful decorative kitchen piece!

Crafted in Montigny-sur-Loing, France circa 1860, the colorful basket has a central handle and features a double vase decorated with floral and leaf motifs in high relief. The elegant, artistic planter with flowers is in excellent condition and has rich, pigmented colors in a blue, black, green and pink palette. Different markings on the bottom.
