19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Needlepoint Armchair
About the Item
19th century French Louis XVI painted needlepoint armchair is a study in classical elegance! The hand-carved framework features a contoured, oval seatback and generously sized seat, all upholstered in painstakingly crafted needlepoint tapestry. The carved embellishment which includes ribbon, acanthus plume and rosette motifs, is enhanced both by the overall patina of the painted finish, plus gold highlighting and just a splash of color on the armrest plumes. The ideal occasional chair!
