Italian 19th Century Louis XV St. Brass, Marble, Ormolu, and Rosewood Commode

About the Item

A stunning and most decorative Italian 19th century Louis XV st. Rosewood, ormolu, brass, and Sarrancolin marble commode. The three drawer bombee shaped Genovese chest is raised by elegant cabriole legs with fine pierced foliate ormolu sabots below the butterfly veneered arbalest shaped frieze. Each of the drawers is decorated with beautiful scrolled pierced foliate pulls and keyhole escutcheons set on a stunning veneered Rosewood background with remarkable and most decorative designs. The corners display exceptional scrolled movements decorated with additional pierced foliate ormolu mounts while the sides continue the striking bombee shape and display a spectacular quarter veneered design centered by a circular reserve with a fine foliate inlaid brass fillet. Above is the original fitted Sarrancolin marble top framed within a Rosewood border.
